Safe Zone' is our new 'Buzz Word'. We use it to describe what we are trying to create in the swim, a safe area where the fish can feed confidently not knowing they are secretly being angled for.The way to create a 'Safe Zone' is to hide your end tackle as much as possible. Through the Underwater films we have made, we have seen that the carp are acutely aware they are being fished for especially if the water is clear and you are fishing during the day. In order to get superb footage underwater we must film in relatively clear water which in turn makes the fishing that much harder, it's a godsend really because when we do get to a winning formula we know it will work everywhere. Without doubt hiding the line is of vital importance, as always we are striving to get as many bites as possible from any given water whether that be 5 a season or 20 a day. Make no mistake hiding the line will put extra fish on the bank for you. The lower the lay of the line the better the lay of the rig, and just like the line the flatter the rig lays the harder it is to see by the fish.
